5.3-magnitude quake hits central Myanmar

YANGON, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) — A 5.3-magnitude earthquake jolted central Myanmar at about 11:10 a.m. local time on Friday, the country’s Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) reported.
According to the DMH, the epicenter was determined to be 8 km to the southwest of Thabeikkyin town in Mandalay Region.
The earthquake, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 22.85 degrees north latitude and 95.91 degrees east longitude, the DMH said. ■
